UBC Okanagan Heat women’s soccer team adds players to all-star roster

The Heat have had seven recognized players over the past two seasons, and eight total since joining the conference in 2013.

Three members of the UBC Okanagan Heat women’s soccer team were named to Canada West all-star teams.

Fourth-year midfielders Annika Gross (Kelowna) and Abigail Taneda (West Kelowna) were named to the second all-star team, and defender Maya Letellier of Calgary was named to the All-Star team. recruits from Canada West.

Gross, a Kelowna high school graduate, had her best season with the Heat, scoring three goals and adding an assist. Taneda, who became the Heat’s all-time leading scorer in 2024. The Mount Boucherie high school graduate led the Heat with five assists, tied for eighth overall in Canada West. She also scored once to give her six points this season.

In his first season with the Heat, Letellier started 12 of the team’s 13 games. The arts major recorded two assists while playing 1,020 minutes. She also made 24 shots, ranking second on the team behind Alyssa Scott’s 36.
