Tage Thompson scores twice as Sabers beat Red Wings 5-3

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Tage Thompson scored two goals and added an assist to help the Buffalo Sabers to a 5-3 victory over the Detroit Red Wings at KeyBank Center on Saturday.

Lucas Raymond scored a shorthanded goal, the first of his career, and an assist for the Red Wings in the loss.

Rasmus Dahlin had three assists for the Sabres, who have won three straight games for the first time this season. Buffalo didn’t win three games in a row last season for the first time until February 21-25.

Dahlin recorded his 40th career multi-point game, placing him second in Sabers franchise history for defensemen and breaking a tie with Doug Bodger. He is behind Phil Housley with 77.
