As election day approaches on Monday, two other independent polls confirm the momentum of the Saskatchewan New Democrats.

A Mainstreet Research telephone poll conducted Tuesday to Thursday shows the NDP enjoys the support of 49 per cent of decided voters, compared to 45 per cent for the Saskatchewan Party, which has governed the province since 2007.

The survey was conducted among 820 adults using automated telephone interviews with people with landlines and cell phones. The margin of error is considered plus or minus 3.4 percentage points 19 times out of 20.

Among decided voters, seven percent said they planned to vote for another party other than the Saskatchewan Party or the NDP.

Another poll released Saturday by Liasaon Strategies shows the NDP with 49 percent support, compared to 46 percent for the Saskatchewan Party.

Scott Moé has led the Saskatchewan Party since 2018. Carla Beck has led the NDP since 2022.

“If you want your community, if you want our province to continue to grow, if you want our Saskatchewan economy to continue to grow, if you want our children and our grandchildren to be able to stay here, then you have to choose and you have to choose the Saskatchewan Party,” Moe told supporters Saturday at Prairieland Park in Saskatoon.

The NDP issued press releases Saturday saying the poll results show people in the province want change.

“Think about the people you love. Think about them when you walk into that voting booth on Monday,” Beck said Saturday.

“Think of your children, your parents, your friends. Think about the people you rely on, the people who are there for you when you need them most. Think about what they need and vote for it.

An Insightrix Research survey of online panelists commissioned by CTV and released earlier this week showed similar results with the NDP leading 50 to 45 percent among decided voters.

In the 2020 election, the Saskatchewan Party maintained its dominance, winning 48 of the province’s 61 seats with 61% of the vote, in the first election with Moe as leader.

The NDP, led by former leader Ryan Meili, won 13 seats with 32 percent of the vote four years ago.
