Detroit Red Wings vs. Edmonton Oilers game: time, TV channel for Connor McDavid game

After a three-game winning streak to get things back on track, the Detroit Red Wings were back in the loss column in their Saturday morning against the Buffalo Sabres.

The Wings looked sleepy for an earlier-than-usual start to their game against the Sabres, allowing the first two goals of the game in the first period. Shortly after the Sabers took a 2-0 lead, Alex DeBrincat scored the first goal of the game for the Wings. This set up a back-and-forth affair for the remainder of the game, with the Wings and Sabers both scoring two goals in the second period to make it 4-3 entering the third period.

The Wings managed just four shots in the third period as they tried to catch up and ended up losing 5-3 thanks to an empty-net goal by the Sabers in the final minutes.

Overall, the Wings were outshot 39-25 on the day, which is a trend throughout the season.

The good news for the Wings is that they won’t have to wait long to get rid of the bitter taste of the defeat against Buffalo, since Derek Lalonde’s team is playing a second game in as many nights against the Edmonton Oilers and Connor McDavid.

After losing in the Stanley Cup Final last year, McDavid’s team didn’t get off to a great start, but the superstar forward was certainly not at fault. McDavid has eight points in eight games, with three goals and five assists so far.
