Edmonton pedestrian dies after being struck by Jeep at intersection

A pedestrian has died after being struck by a vehicle early Sunday morning in north-central Edmonton.

Edmonton police, in a news release Sunday afternoon, said the 18-year-old woman was crossing 107th Avenue at 130th Street, walking north, at 12:30 a.m. when she was struck by an eastbound Jeep Grand Cherokee.

The woman died instantly.

Police charged the 34-year-old woman who was driving the Jeep with refusal after crash causing death and impaired driving causing death.
