Baby Show helps pregnant women and new mothers have everything they need

Mothers, moms-to-be and families gathered Sunday at the Womb to Walking Baby Show for shopping, services and fun.

The event held its eighth expo at Bingemans in Kitchener, where parents had access to baby- and mom-focused businesses, information booths and services.

It was created by Kerri Rubicini, owner of KW Moms Club and mother of three.

“I wanted to create an event for us local parents to come together, understand (more) about bringing babies into the world and also the years afterward and being a family together,” Rubicini said.

There is also fun for the little ones. Little ones had access to a play area with a ball pit, designed by Hometime Hideout. There is also a fashion show which allows babies and toddlers to show off products found locally.

“I’ve been coming here for five years,” said Amanda Lidstone, a mother who attended the event with her daughter and young model, Mia.

When asked if she was having fun, Mia replied “yes, yes, yes.”

According to their website, the event brings together more than 85 vendors, offering clothing, snacks and resources to help mothers do their best work.

Sasha Simine is a birth and postpartum doula who has her own recurring booth at the show.

“I love this show because it represents our community and the resources available to both expectant parents and parents of young children very well,” Simine said. “I love coming back because you see the same faces, but with bigger and bigger kids as they get older.

Simine said she hopes to attend the next show in the spring, with a new doula group she is starting with business partner Amy Perry, called Willow River Doula Collective.

The next Womb to Walking Baby Show will take place on May 4, 2025.
