The biggest headlines from Week 8 of the 2024 NFL season

Week 8 of 2024 NFL Season ends Monday night when the New York Giants take on the Pittsburgh Steelers. While fans wait for another New York team’s undeserved moment in prime time, it’s time to look back on the week that has passed.

Here are the biggest headlines from week 8.

In the first matchup between rookie quarterbacks Caleb Williams and Jayden Daniels, Daniels got the better of his counterpart by delivering one of the best moments of the season. A Hail Mary ended Chicago Bears fans’ hopes of a victory on Sunday.

One match doesn’t decide a career, but it must have felt good for Daniels.

The Detroit Lions continue to be what the kids call a wagon. The Lions did not give the Tennessee Titans a kneecap after their 52-14 victory. Friends, it looks like the Lions are here to stay as one of the best teams in the NFC.

If the Cleveland Browns’ owners had known that a quarterback change would have made a difference in this franchise, they probably wouldn’t have done it. However, with Deshaun Watson injured, backup quarterback Jameis Winston delivered the goods in the team’s 29-24 victory over the Baltimore Ravens.

Maybe, just maybe, Winston gets another chance to miss his candor and fall for the rollercoaster of emotions the quarterback brings to the table.

Things aren’t going well for the Dallas Cowboys, and their 30-24 loss to the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday night could be the straw that breaks the camel’s back for this era in Cowboys history. It looks like it might be time to look at some mock drafts from the year that was once considered all-in.
