Duval County tax notices will be mailed October 31. Here’s How Homeowners Can Pay Their Bills

JACKSONVILLE, Florida. – 2024 Duval County tax notices will be mailed Thursday and homeowners can expect their bills to arrive in their mailboxes in the coming days, according to the Duval County Tax Collector, Jim Overton.

Officials said in-person payments to the county’s nine tax collector branches are expected to be crowded after property owners receive their tax bills.

While long wait times aren’t ideal, there are other ways to avoid lines this tax season.

“Online payments are the fastest, easiest and most efficient way for customers to pay their taxes,” Overton said.

This year’s tax accounts are already open on the site www.duvaltc.com and they accept payments now.

“Customers who must pay in person are asked to use the Join the linefunctionality on www.duvaltc.comwhich allows them to add themselves to a virtual queue online before arriving at the branch to reserve their place in the queue. Once the customer is in the queue, they will receive updates via SMS regarding their place in the queue and will be informed of the time they should arrive at the branch for service,” Overton said.

For those paying online or in person, credit card payments will impose an additional fee of 2.5 percent or a minimum of $2.50 to the credit card company.

If planning to pay by check, customers should note their 10-digit account number on their check. Do not staple or clip the check on the payment stub, as this will prevent the payment from being processed correctly and delay your receipt. Checks should be made payable to the Duval County Tax Collector and mailed to PO Box 44009, Jacksonville, FL 32231-4009.

It’s important to note that homeowners who pay before November 30 will receive a 4 percent discount. A 3% discount if paid before December 31, 2% if paid before January 31 and a 1% discount if paid before February 28. The final deadline to pay your 2024 tax bill is March 31.

Homeowners who do not receive an invoice should visit www.duvaltc.comand select “Property Taxes” to find and pay their bill online, or email [email protected] to find out the amount owed. If you do not receive a tax bill, you are still liable for taxes due by March 31.

If you need to change your mailing address, we encourage you to download and submit a change of address form to the Property Appraiser’s Office at www.coj.net/paor send an email to [email protected].
