Winnipeg Police: Woman hit by own car during carjacking

A Winnipeg woman is recovering after being hit by her own vehicle during a carjacking over the weekend.

Police responded to the 300 block of York Avenue on Oct. 26 around 2:12 p.m. for a report of a carjacking.

Investigators said a 45-year-old woman had her Toyota Tundra stolen from a parking lot at York and Carlton Street.

Police said during the incident she was hit by the vehicle.

She was taken to hospital with serious injuries and later restored to stable condition.

The vehicle was found in the Elmwood area and the Major Crimes Unit is currently investigating.

No one was arrested. If anyone has any information, they are asked to call police or Crime Stoppers.
