Winnipeg police investigate carjacking after victim injured

A 45-year-old woman was hit by her own car during a carjacking in a York Avenue parking lot on Saturday. The Winnipeg Police Service responded to the scene around 2:12 p.m. after receiving reports of the incident.

She suffered serious injuries and was initially taken to hospital in unstable condition, but has since been upgraded to stable condition.

The stolen vehicle was later found by police in the Elmwood area. The suspect fled the scene and no arrests have been made at this time.
