Black Ops 6 already lets you fly through Warzone’s upcoming Avalon map

Although never officially announced, teasers and leaks of a new Warzone map called “Avalon” have been appearing for months. Now, with the release of Black Ops 6players got a better look at the upcoming battle royale map.

Avalon was first spotted in a teaser for Rebirth Island, as references to the name and a map of the area were seen as part of the first challenges revealed by BO6. Then, the players quickly realized that Training courses in BO6 betawhich also happens to be the Protocol map, took place on one of the islands in the new map.

But after Black Ops 6 fully launches, fans can get a clearer look at Avalon, as it’s actually rendered in one of 16 multiplayer maps.

As “Lightsfire” discovered, if you start a private match on Lowtown and use the Codcaster setting, you can fly out of bounds and start exploring the rumored Warzone map.

Although it doesn’t have the level of detail and textures you’d expect from the final map, you can float around and visualize the layout of all the different POIs. This includes areas that will be familiar to fans, the shooting range and Hacienda from Black Ops 1 and 4 respectively, to the Skyline map from Black Ops 6.

Having tried this for ourselves, Avalon is absolutely huge, with many different POIs and leagues of green space between them. There’s also a lot of water, especially towards the bottom of the map, which could make for some interesting final circles. Of course, there is every chance that the developers could make changes before its official release.

Reddit user “Dull-Caterpillar3153” even created a map of Avalon with names for each location based on how they looked or their previous names as multiplayer maps. Although this is just a fan-made map, it matches the layout we saw in the game.

When Avalon teasers first appeared, many were hoping that this would be the new Warzone map that would arrive when Black Ops 6 rolled into Season 1.

However, the revelation of Area 99 and news that the OG Verdansk returning in early 2025 made it clear that Avalon wasn’t coming anytime soon.

According to a report from Insider gamesthis means that this will be the new Battle Royale map for COD 2025, which will be also reportedly brought back a number of iconic cards from BO2 and stick to new omnimotion system.
