Crooked House campaigner welcomes MP Protection Bill

A public inquiry to decide whether the owners of The Crooked House should rebuild has been postponed until spring 2025.

Meanwhile, Ms Inkersole, who lives in Gornal, said “disgusting” dumping on the path to the former pub prevented her from accessing it on Sunday.

“I will sporadically check the site,” she said. “I couldn’t get past that pile of garbage because it was just disgusting.”

She said the lane had always been used for fly-tipping, but the mounds of black bags dumping waste and discarded bed parts were “particularly bad”.

Share photos with other activists on Facebook, externalshe wrote: “I can’t wait until next year’s call to finally get something going.”

She added that her mother, brother and niece had all worked at the pub, meaning it held “lots of memories for us as a family”.
