Holmberg was ordered to go to jail while awaiting sentencing.

BISMARCK, N.D. (KFYR) – A U.S. district judge ordered former state Sen. Ray Holmberg to voluntarily surrender to the U.S. Marshals by Friday.

Earlier this month, U.S. attorneys asked Judge Daniel Hovland to revoke Holmberg’s release because he was accessing the Internet and traveling without authorization.

Holmberg’s lawyers say his age and health should keep him out of prison before sentencing. Hovland agreed with the government, saying that since Holmberg had not kept his end of the bargain, he should be detained pending sentencing.
