Wednesday remaining warm and windy

SAGINAW, Mich. (WNEM) – What a great day around Mid-Michigan! We received some much needed rain this morning in many areas and temperatures have been very pleasant this afternoon.

Most of our highs were in the mid to upper 70s and it looks like we broke records today in Saginaw, Flint and Houghton Lake. The heat is expected to continue into Wednesday and we should have another dry and windy day. For those looking for another chance of rain, this one arrives on Halloween on Thursday.

Tonight and all night

Skies will be partly cloudy this evening, with most of the high and thin cloud cover producing no precipitation. Any travel or plans this evening should be uninterrupted, apart from the wind which will be a nuisance this evening. This wind is expected to stay around 10 to 20 miles per hour, with gusts near 30 miles per hour.

This will keep our temperatures warmer through this evening, with lows remaining in the lower to mid 60s. These lows tonight will be warmer than our average highs for this time of year!

Wednesday

Wednesday should be a beautiful day, with plenty of sunshine mixed with occasional clouds and a dry day for anyone looking to take advantage of the dry weather. Tomorrow’s speed bump will be a continuation of Tuesday’s gusts, with gusts around 30 to 35 miles per hour. The wind will still be out of the southwest, sustained around 15 to 25 miles per hour.

Highs will be in the mid 70s to low 80s on Wednesday. Due to wind, warm temperatures and continued dry conditions, even those not subject to burning bans should avoid burning tomorrow due to high winds.

We should stay dry for most, if not all, of Wednesday evening. No rain is expected in the evening, but even most of the overnight hours look dry at this point. If rain manages to set in, it would be closer to dawn on Thursday.

Wednesday evening, lows will be in the 50s and 60s with lingering wind gusts.
