“The health problem in America, like we lost Frankie Beverly, Batman, Fat Man Scoop, Rich Homie Quan, rest in peace,” he said, citing recent deceased musicians. “Freddie Jackson, the R&B singer, said he had kidney problems. You know, Black and Latino, man, we really need to take care of our health as much as possible.

Jeffries believes health-related issues stem from urban communities’ lack of access to healthier food options and higher-quality health care, which can lead to illnesses plaguing the community.

“We need to address the problem of gun violence, but if you step back, more and more people are dying from lack of access to healthy food, lack of access to health care, and then this lack of access to healthy food. Then it delivers results, in terms of diabetes, heart disease, respiratory disease, certain forms of cancer, and without access to health care to deal with these chronic and debilitating illnesses, people die prematurely,” he said. he declared.

Healthcare price transparency is a relevant issue for Fat Joe as he continues to support American citizens while targeting drug companies that engage in price gouging. He previously pushed to help pass the Healthcare Accountability & Consumer Protection Act in New York.

In anticipation of the 2024 elections, as spokesperson for Power to patients, Joe teamed up with unions and workers to launch a public service announcement calling on elected officials to end price gouging and “steal from all of us.”

“(I) also want to congratulate you on, you know, your work in health care. Healthcare Transparency Act, extremely important in getting us to a much better place,” Jeffries told Joe. “People have access to the affordable, high-quality health care they need. I often say, when I’m back home talking with people about a variety of issues, that in urban America and in black and Latino communities, particularly in our communities, more people are dying because of drive-bys than drive-bys.
