Former TNA Tag Champion Chris Bey Releases Statement On Injury

Chris Bey released a statement after suffering a serious neck injury competing for TNA this weekend. The statement was made on social media via the TNA Wrestling X account.

“I just want to take a moment to express my sincere thanks and deepest gratitude for so much over the past few days,” Bey wrote. “From everyone at TNA Wrestling, to the incredible medical staff here in Detroit, to family, friends and fans around the world. I know you have prayed for my full recovery from the accident on last Sunday’s ring was the first day for me on this journey, which I know will be long and difficult. Thank you again for your love and support, and keep praying!

Bey injured his neck during a match Sunday night at a TNA Impact taping. He had surgery on Sunday evening and then had an MRI on Monday. According to a TNA release, Bey was in good spirits Monday and was recovering at a Detroit hospital.

“Chris Bey is recovering in the hospital following surgery for a neck injury suffered Sunday evening and underwent an MRI on Monday,” the statement said. “He was resting in his hospital room Monday night, joking, talking about Bound For Glory and in good spirits. Chris will be in Detroit for a few days and members of his family have joined him, as well as TNA Wrestling management and the wrestlers who remain in Detroit. Chris is under professional supervision and care, and local medical personnel have been in contact with his personal physician.

TNA Statement on Chris Bey Injury

Bey teamed with Ace Austin to take on The Hardy’s and The System in a main event ladder match Saturday night at TNA. On the road to glory PPV event. Bey is a former X-Division Champion and TNA Tag Team Champion.
