Little Beakers Science Lab gives children a place to learn and grow

SANDY, Utah — There’s nothing like seeing something explode, especially if you’re a kid.

For many children at Little Beakers Science Lab in Sandy, their favorite experiences involve erupting. But these kids know that science is more than just explosions, which is why when Tatianna Wilson saw the Little Beakers signing in Sandy, she knew she wanted her son, Dax, to be part of the fun .

“We are a homeschooling family and I was looking for extracurricular activities and something fun to do for him to make more friends and broaden his educational horizons,” said Wilson. “He comes home and tells us what he learned. He wants to become a marine biologist. It’s so amazing.”

Little Beakers offers open labs, birthday parties, workshops and more for people of all ages. The lab started in Texas, but Vickie Hulderson brought the concept to Utah as a franchise after throwing a science party at home for her daughter a few years ago.

“There are opportunities for children to explore their natural talent in music, dance, sports or art, but children who just have scientific and logical brains don’t have many places to go to developing them and meeting people,” Hulderson said.

Little Beakers is a space for children of all backgrounds, ages and skills to learn science in a way that is easy to understand and much less complicated for parents.

“It’s so nice to have him here, he can have fun, do an experiment, be messy, and he can take the project home, and I don’t have to clean it up,” Wilson laughed .

The mission of the Little Beakers Science Lab works because inside their labs you will find the next generation of leaders.

“I want to be a scientist when I grow up,” Little Beakers student Viktor said.
