More than 50 West Michigan artists come together for pop-up charity gallery

GRAND HAVEN, MI — For one night only, an art pop-up will bring together more than 50 West Michigan artists showcasing work in a wide range of mediums.

The gallery will benefit Grand Haven Community, Nonprofit Radio Station, 103.5 WAWL.

The event will take place from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, November 2 at the Tri-Cities Historical Museum, hosted by the Lakeshore Visual Arts Collective (LVAC).

The second floor of the historic museum will be transformed into an art gallery filled with jewelers, potters, painters, photographers, fiber artists, multimedia artists, glass artists and more.

“We are excited to host our first ever pop-up at the Historical Museum. It’s a really cool venue, a historic anchor for the city and a unique space to showcase the work of regional artists,” said Maggie Bandstra, founder and president of LVAC. “Like all of our pop-up exhibitions, Art at the Museum is a great example of how LVAC brings people together to foster good in the region, build a sustainable artist community, and expand opportunities for art collectors here at lakeside.”

The charity event will also feature live music from local guitarist MacKael LaMore, food from Righteous Cuisine and a cash bar.

A suggested donation of $10 at the door and 10% of art sales directly benefit the work of the Tri-Cities Broadcasting Foundation, which operates WAWL radio.

The foundation provides a platform for local musicians, offers internship opportunities for students studying broadcast arts, and is a source for local news, sports and weather.
