Get ready for cooler mornings and cooler afternoons starting tomorrow.

But it looks like we’ll have another slight warm-up on Sunday and Monday.

For today… sunny with a few clouds, light wind and an afternoon maximum close to 5°C after starting the day a few degrees below 0°C.

These temperatures are completely comparable to seasonal averages.

Clouds start to appear overnight and while there is no real chance of snow anywhere in Alberta on Halloween, almost everyone will see mostly cloudy skies or a mix of sun and clouds .

In the Edmonton area we will likely have some sunny spells…but more clouds than sunshine.

Some cooler air is moving in and temperatures will be between 1-4C for a high Thursday afternoon.

I’m leaving with a maximum temperature of 2 C… so… not DRAMATICALLY colder, but a little cooler than the last few days.

Friday/Saturday will be in the same range and mornings are expected to drop to between -5 and -10 C for Friday and Saturday.

LONG-TERM Research: The trend is practically unchanged compared to the last few days.

We will have a slight increase in temperatures on Sunday/Monday (maximums of around 4 to 7°C), then a slight drop for Tuesday/Wednesday (maximums of around 2 to 5°C).

BUT…the end of next week is looking towards afternoon high temperatures of between 6 and 11°C. So we’ll see how it goes.

As for snow, there are some minor chances of a few flurries, but no significant chance of accumulating snow every time it snows.

That could always change if one of these “minor occasions” decides to strike. However, I think it’s possible that we could approach mid-November without any real snow cover.
