Indiana Jones and the Great Circle targets 60 frames per second on Xbox Series X and Series S

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle aims to run “smoothly” at 60fps on the Xbox Series X and its less powerful sibling, the Series S.

Talk with Windows Centralcreative director Axel Torvenius spoke about the game’s technical performance.

“We may disclose even more details in terms of specifics and technical details, as we get closer to launch, once we see all the performance telemetry,” the developer began. “But what I can tell you is that the ambition is for the game to run at 60fps on Xbox Series “product experience.”

Torvenius said the Indiana Jones and Great Circle team wanted the experience to be “cohesive” for players, meaning the game should run “smoothly at 60” on Xbox Series X and Series S.

The Series S console has tripped up developers in the past. Earlier this year, the developer behind Dune: Awakening admitted that preparing the game for Microsoft’s less powerful Xbox Series S would be a ‘challenge’. In the meantime, Baldur’s Gate 3 was released a few months later on Xbox because of difficulties with split-screen cooperation on the Series S console.

However, things are looking up for Series S owners. Recently, the Stalker 2 team stated that they hope provide a performance mode at 60 fps at some point for its upcoming release on the Series S console. Although he hasn’t promised anything yet, developer GSC said, “We think it’s possible.”

To learn more about Indy, our Ian recently got hands-on with the Great Circle.

“I think it’s going to be something really special and I can’t wait to play more of it. It’s shaping up to be a wonderful love letter to Indiana Jones, just like Rogue City was to Robocop, and to anyone who considers themselves a fan of the film trilogy (there have definitely only been three films, I don’t know what you’re talking about) should definitely have this on their radar,” he wrote in.
