Severe Weather Forecast for Northeast Kansas

KANSAS (KSNT) – The National Weather Service (NWS) in Topeka is forecasting hazardous weather for central, north-central and northeastern Kansas, with the possibility of tornadoes.

According to the NWS, tornadoes, damaging winds, large hail and severe thunderstorms are possible late this afternoon and throughout the evening. The NWS asks weather observers to report severe weather conditions.

According to KSNT meteorologist Ely Millard, the region is at greatest risk of damaging winds.

The NWS issued a hazardous weather forecast at 5:34 a.m. Oct. 30 for Republic, Washington, Marshall, Nemaha, Brown, Cloud, Clay, Riley, Pottawatomie, Jackson, Jefferson, Ottawa, Dickinson, Geary, Morris, Wabaunsee, Shawnee. , Douglas, Lyon, Osage, Franklin, Coffey and Anderson Counties.

Ely Millard said the storm is moving from west to east and will likely enter the Junction City and Manhattan area around 3 and 5 p.m. and will likely enter the Topeka area between 5 and 7 p.m.
