Pedestrian killed in crash in Woodcroft: EPS

An 85-year-old man is dead and police are looking for witnesses to the accident that killed him.

Edmonton police said the man was struck by a car while crossing 114th Avenue near 135th Street in a wheelchair around 2 p.m. on October 21.

The driver was heading east on the avenue when they struck the man, causing him to fall from the wheelchair.

The man was seriously injured. He was taken to hospital where he died on Monday.

No information about the driver was released, but police said he remained at the scene.

Police have not yet said whether impairment, speed or sun glare were factors in the crash.

Police are looking for witnesses or on-board camera footage of the accident. Anyone with information should call police at 780-423-4567.
