Person arrested in botched daytime home invasion in Brampton

One person is in custody following a botched home invasion in Brampton.

Peel police say they were called to the Upper Ridge Crescent area shortly before 2 p.m. on October 29 for reports of a home invasion/break and enter.

Videos circulating on social media show police attempting to block a Dodge Ram pickup truck as two individuals attempt to flee the scene.

A police officer is seen getting out of the patrol vehicle and pointing a gun at the driver of the pickup truck, demanding that he get out of the truck. He then pursued the second suspect, who fled on foot.

The driver of the pickup truck then backed away from the police car and fled the scene. The police begin pursuing the truck before abandoning the pursuit.

The video then shows what appears to be a safe containing a large amount of cash on the front lawn of a home.

One person was arrested at the scene and investigators say they are still looking for at least one other suspect who fled in the van.
