YouTube fixes podcast removing glitches featuring Donald Trump

YouTube has fixed an issue on its platform that limited the reach of a recent episode of “The Joe Rogan Experience” featuring presidential candidate Donald Trump.

The issue prevented the three-hour interview from appearing in search, although clips from the episode did appear. YouTube has since fixed the issue and apologized for the issue.

“For some searches on Monday, the original three-hour interview did not appear prominently,” YouTube said in a statement. “Short clips uploaded by the Joe Rogan channel appeared, but we know it was frustrating for users trying to find the full video. We’ve worked to resolve this issue and viewers will soon start seeing the full podcast in more YouTube search results.

Before the patch, Joe Rogan reposted a comment on X highlighting the issue.

“I tried to find the Rogan/Trump interview on YouTube, but no matter what I search, it doesn’t appear. It would be beyond crazy if they actively tried to remove it,” wrote David Heinemeier Hansson, technical director of Basecamp. “That must be a problem, right?”

This is the second time in three months that social media companies have had to correct errors in their systems that removed conservative figures. In August, Dennis Quaid’s REAGAN posts were censored on Facebook, resulting in little to no reach. Although Meta fixed the problem and apologized for the problem, Quaid was flabbergasted that this happened in the first place.

“I’m baffled, frankly, because it was banned and they haven’t even seen the movie,” Quaid said. said during an interview with Fox News. “So it seems like they don’t want people to see the movie either, I guess. But you know, we will organize a screening for them, and they can see for themselves. The film is about America in the 80s, Ronald Reagan and his life, and the fight against communism.

This seems to be automated (to censor conservatives) for some reason…it’s happened several times actually, and we’ve been suspended two days in a row…But last I heard, Reagan didn’t have “Haven’t been on the ballot in 40 years,” Quaid added jokingly. “Not only is he not registered on the electoral lists, but he is completely ineligible because he has served two terms. »
