The dry month of October ends with chances of rain

HAZARD, Ky. (WYMT) – Happy Halloween! For your Thursday, temperatures will be pleasant and warm with temperatures in the upper 70s and a chance of rain as a scary cold front moves through Eastern Kentucky. Overnight temperatures will be in the upper 50s and only warm to the mid 60s for Friday’s high temperatures.

SECURITIES:

  • Happy Warm Halloween
  • Scary Rain Chances
  • Macabre drop in temperatures

DISCUSSION:

A cold front is expected to bring much-needed rain to eastern Kentucky this evening. Rain will continue overnight, moving from the northwest to southeastern counties of our region throughout Friday. Due to this front, temperatures will drop, making Friday’s highs more pleasant and closer to average for this time of year. If you’re not a fan of the 60s, there’s good news! Temperatures are expected to rise back into the 70s by the start of the next work week.

LOOKING TO THE FUTURE:

As November approaches, temperatures are expected to remain warm and above average for the month. We will also see an increased chance of rain, especially around Election Day and afterward. Following this second round of rain, temperatures can be expected to become more typical for this time of year.
