Identify the weather alert day Wednesday for the first severe frost of the season

DENVER (KDVR) — The Pinpoint Weather Alert Day continued Wednesday evening as the showers ended and the first severe frost of the season took hold. Weather in Denver forecast.

Weather this evening: clearing, severe frost

Wednesday evening, clouds will clear as temperatures drop to 20 degrees.

This is the first severe frost of the season and for this reason a Frost Warning is expected to be in effect from Wednesday evening through Thursday morning.

Precautions to take with temperatures this cold are to protect any plants you want to survive this freeze, as well as any exposed plumbing.

Weather tomorrow: seasonal cold

It will be cold early Thursday morning, but sunshine and a change in southerly wind will help push high temperatures up to the upper 50s, which is right around normal for this time of year .

Dry conditions are also forecast for Thursday evening. During holiday hours, temperatures will remain seasonally cool, falling from the mid-50s to mid-40s by 8 p.m.

Outlook: sunny and milder weekend

Sunshine and more seasonal temperatures persist Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

On Friday, temperatures will rise from a low in the upper 20s to near 60 degrees, which is close to normal for this time of year, and then warm up to the mid 60s on Saturday. Sunday will be sunny and windy with temperatures climbing into the 60s.

The next chance for showers is early in the work week, with cooler temperatures.
