GAME SUMMARY | BOX SCORE | UPCOMING HOME GAMES

After Roslovic and Boston’s Brad Marchand traded goals early, the Canes took control of the game with three goals in 52 seconds late in the first period to consolidate a 4-1 lead after 20 minutes.

Svechnikov struck first in the sequence, tipping a Shayne Gostisbéhere power play shot. A little over 30 seconds later, Jackson Blake doubled the lead by getting a piece of Dmitry Orlovis fired from the slot. To end the frenzy, Martin Necas scored his fifth goal of the campaign with a shot from the left circle, still on the power play, at 18:06.

The Bruins threatened a comeback early in the second as Hampus Lindholm lit the lamp at 3:38, but Carolina responded with another pair of back-to-back goals to make it 6-2 after two. Svechnikov caught the first of them, knocking a loose puck into the slot for the Canes’ third power-play goal of the night, just 41 seconds before Roslovic completed his double with a laser from the dead slot after a solid failure before Jordan Martinook.

Finishing in style, Sean Walker scored his first goal with the Hurricanes at 7:36 of the third period and Jesperi Kotkaniemi scored in his first game of the season to seal the victory. Pyotr Kochetkov stopped 13 of 15 shots to earn their third straight victory.
