MARYLAND HEIGHTS, Mo. – Forwards Mathieu Joseph and Kasperi Kapanen and defenseman Nick Leddy are unlikely to each play for the St. Louis Blues against the Toronto Maple Leafs to begin a five-game homestand Saturday.

Kapanen, who missed Thursday’s 2-1 loss to Philadelphia Flyers with an upper body injury suffered Tuesday against the Ottawa Senatorswas on the ice early before practice, working with strength and conditioning coach Ray Barile.

“I think he’s just day to day right now,” Blues coach Drew Bannister said. “I think at the moment I don’t think he will be in tomorrow’s game for us. It’s similar to Matty Joseph and ‘Leds’ too. I still think they are more day to day “Until we can get them into regular training, I don’t see them as players for us.”

Joseph missed his second game with a lower body injury, and Leddy also has a lower body injury and has missed the last seven games. Everyone was able to get on the ice Friday morning before team practice.

Of course, the Blues are without center Robert Thomas, who fractured his right ankle blocking a shot in the third period in a 3-2 loss to the Blues. Winnipeg Jets on October 22.
