Speaking to Carlson Thursday evening in Glendale, one of the largest cities in the swing state of Arizona, Trump said: “Let’s put her there with a rifle with nine barrels shooting at her, okay? Let’s see what she thinks, I know, when the guns are pointed in her face.

He added: “They’re all war hawks when they sit in Washington in a nice building and say, ‘Oh, gee, well, let’s send 10,000 troops straight into the mouth of the enemy.'”

Kamala Harris called Trump’s remarks “disqualifying” as she spoke to reporters on a Wisconsin tarmac Friday.

“Trump is increasingly someone who views his political opponents as enemies, who constantly seeks revenge, and who is increasingly unstable and unhinged,” she said.

“Liz Cheney is a tough person, she’s an incredible American and I have incredible respect for her.”

But Trump defended himself, writing on his Truth Social platform: “All I say about Liz Cheney is that she’s a War Hawk, and an idiot at that, but she wouldn’t have ” the courage” to fight. “

Cheney represented a Wyoming district for three terms in the United States House of Representatives and was once the third highest-ranking Republican in the House.

She supported Harris, arguing that Trump’s actions during the 2021 U.S. Capitol riot were proof that he “can never be trusted with power again.”

Over the past month, she has made campaign appearances alongside Harris in an effort to reach disaffected Republicans in key states.

Although she voted primarily in line with Trump while he was in the White House, she fell out with him over the Capitol riot and voted in favor of his second impeachment.

Her father, former US Vice President Dick Cheney, also indicated that he was among the Republicans who would vote for Harris in 2024.

Opinion polls suggest Trump is deadlocked with Harris in the race for the White House ahead of Tuesday’s vote.
