Russia and Norway agree on the management of fisheries resources in the Barents and Norwegian seas – Business & Economy

MOSCOW, November 1. /TASS/. Russia and Norway have agreed on the management of fishery resources in the Barents and Norwegian seas by 2025, the Russian Federal Fisheries Agency announced after the 54th session of the Russian-Norwegian joint commission. Norwegian Fisheries.

“The Parties exchanged scientific research data and catch statistics in 2023 and for the past period of 2024 and approved the total acceptable catches of cod, haddock and other types of aquatic bioresources for 2025. Besides, issues of fishing regulation in the Barents region and Norway and control measures were discussed, including the procedure for issuing fishing permits,” the agency said.

The decisions taken at the commission’s annual sessions allow for more rational use and regulation of joint Russian and Norwegian reserves in the Barents Sea, the statement added.
