“If you really care about her, then move on…” Meet Werther. Lionsgate has released the official trailer for a new independent romantic comedy titled Young Wertherwhich is the first feature film by filmmaker José Avelino Gilles Corbett Lourenço. This Canadian production premiered at the 2024 Toronto Film Festival and generated good buzz there. It’s already scheduled for release in December on VOD in the US if anyone wants to spend some time with Werther. The film is a clever contemporary adaptation of Goethe’s 1774 hit. tragic romance novel. Located in Toronto, Douglas Booth plays Werther – a wealthy young man who instantly falls in love with a woman named Charlotte, with Alison Pill. “He falls more and more in love with her as they spend time together. She is introverted, loves to read, and has been the primary caretaker of her siblings since their parents died. A small problem in their union , however, is that Charlotte is engaged to successful lawyer Albert It’s a story of unrequited love, but can he still win her heart? Iris Apatow, Patrick J. Adams, Amrit KaurAnd Jaouhar Ben Ayed. I saw this one and it’s pretty good. Don’t write it! It’s always nice to see something a little different these days, and the terrific cast here is the icing on the cake.
