Have a good weekend for southern Colorado before a possible storm on Monday

Tonight’s forecast:
Clouds will continue to increase this evening and this, combined with a warming air mass, will mean overnight temperatures will not be as cold as recent nights. Lows in the mountains and mountain valleys will cool into the 10s and 20s, with a mix of 20s, 30s and lower 40s in the plains.

Colorado Springs Forecast: Low: 31; High: 64; Below freezing temperatures Saturday morning will give way to a mild and pleasant afternoon. South wind gusts to 20 mph will be possible, with decreasing clouds throughout the day.

Pueblo Forecast: Low: 28; High: 68; Partly to mostly cloudy skies early in the morning will give way to decreasing clouds, light highs, and moderately gusty southerly breezes during the afternoon.

Forecast for Canon City: Weak: 35; High: 66; South wind gusts reaching 20 mph Saturday will accompany a warmer afternoon as high temperatures in eastern Fremont County are expected to peak in the mid-60s.

Forecast for Woodland Park: Weak: 25; High: 58; A partly cloudy and cold morning in Teller County will give way to a mostly pleasant afternoon, with mostly sunny skies and upper 50s for highs.

Tri-Lakes Forecast: Weak: 20/30; High: 50s/60s; A cold start to Saturday will give way to a mostly sunny and mild afternoon, with south wind gusts reaching around 20 mph.

Plains Forecast: Weak: 20/30; High: 60s/70s; Aside from a shower or thunderstorm over the far Southeast Plains on Saturday, we will see a dry and mild start to the weekend, with highs peaking in the 60s and lower 70s.

Forecast for Walsenburg and Trinidad: Weak: 20/30; High: 1960s; A seasonally dry and mild start to the weekend for the southern I-25 corridor, with mostly sunny afternoon skies and highs in the 60s.

Mountain forecast: Low: 20 years old; High: 40s/50s; Mixed weather this weekend for the mountains, with dry skies and milder temperatures Saturday giving way to snow Sunday as our next storm arrives in the state.

Extended Outlook Forecast:
Our weekend will start under mild skies, with partly cloudy skies at the start of the day and mostly sunny skies in the afternoon. High pressure in Colorado Springs on Saturday will warm comfortably into the mid 60s. A powerful storm system that will spread snow into the mountains on Sunday will bring us increasing clouds and a few degrees of cooling by Sunday.

Snow chances will increase late Sunday night and into Monday, with possible impacts on the morning commute to work. Monday’s high will only warm into the 30s and 40s in southern Colorado. Tuesday looks set to be dry and mild with our high rebounding into the 40s and 50s. Then another disturbance we’re watching for mid to late next week looks to bring increased snow potential and colder temperatures from next Wednesday to next Friday.
