Tom Hanks and Robin Wright may have created some box office magic with their duo in Forrest Gump, but that charm doesn’t live up to their latest film Here. The film has recorded a mediocre collection from the previews, and the first weekend is also not looking so bright for the film. Scroll below for details.

However, the film was released before big budget films like Red One, Moana 2, Wicked Part 1 and Gladiator II. However, it’s now up against films like Venom: The Last Dance, The Wild Robot, Smile 2, and Terrifier 3. They’re all doing quite well in theaters, while some have overperformed at the box office. However, things don’t look so encouraging for Robert Zemeckis’ film. The film also features Paul Bettany and Kelly Reilly to support Tom and Robin.

According to Deadline’s report, Here is expected to earn less than the expected amount. The report revealed that there were plans to open at a 7 million dollars collection during its first weekend at the North American box office. However, the film is looking to make $2 million less than that. It should now be released in theaters with 5 million dollars on 2,647 sites. It reportedly earned $1.85 million on Friday on its opening day, including $475,000 from the previews.

The report further claims that Here will be among the top 5 at the domestic box office with its opening weekend collection; however, the situation is not very favorable. The Tom Hanks-led film will take the fourth spot on the list.

Besides Here, other films that will make the top five include The Wild Robot. The animated feature will take second place in its sixth weekend with a gross of $6 million. Smile 2 will be in third place with its $5.1 million gross, and in fifth place will be the mystery thriller Conclave with its $4.2 million gross. In the meantime, Venom: The Last Dance will once again be at the top with a second weekend at $19 million.

Robert Zemeckis directed Here, starring Tom Hanks and Robin Wright, was released in the United States on November 1.

Note: box office numbers are based based on estimates and various sources. The numbers have not been independently verified by Koimoi.
