Man chases people, breaks into house, stabs woman in Brampton (police)

A man allegedly chased people, broke into a home and stabbed a woman in Brampton Thursday evening in a random incident that also injured a second victim, police say.

Const. Peel Regional Police officer Michelle Stafford told INsauga.com that around 10 p.m., officers received a call about a “suspicious person” chasing people in the area of Brisdale Drive and Sandalwood Parkway West.

“It was further reported that the suspect entered a residence and an altercation occurred,” Stafford said.

“Officers and paramedics arrived and located an adult male with non-life-threatening injuries and an adult female with a non-life-threatening laceration. They were both taken to a local hospital.

Stafford said the suspect also suffered non-life-threatening injuries before officers arrived and was also transported to a local hospital.

A Peel Paramedics spokesperson said a man aged around 60 suffered head trauma and was transported to a local hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

A woman in her 30s was stabbed and transported to a local hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

A third person was treated at the scene, the paramedic spokesperson said, although Stafford said that person was the suspect who was actually taken to the hospital.

He was held for a bail hearing.
