The purported video of the incident, which took place at Jodhpur Government Satellite Hospital located in Pawta, has surfaced on social media.

In a shocking incident of negligence, a laboratory worker in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, conducted an ECG test on a patient after watching a YouTube clip due to shortage of hospital staff. The incident triggered an administrative investigation against the public hospital.

According to PTI, the patient’s family opposed the process, saying that carrying out the analysis without having the necessary knowledge could kill him, to which the attendant said that he had no other choice as he There was no staff.

The purported video of the incident, which took place at the Jodhpur Government Satellite Hospital located in Pawta, has surfaced on social media, prompting the administration to launch an investigation.

In the video, family members of the patient are seen raising objections that performing such sensitive scans without knowledge and experience could cost the patient’s life, but the lab attendant continued to perform the ECG.

Lab assistant admits he never took an ECG

The video further shows the assistant saying that the lab technician went home on Diwali leave. Everything has been installed in the right place and the machine will do all the necessary work, he added, according to PTI.

The man, who said he wasn’t even a lab assistant, also openly admits that he has never done an ECG before. Despite the lack of qualification and experience, he continues the procedure, ignoring the concerns of the patient’s family.

For those who don’t know, an ECG or electrocardiogram is a medical test that records the electrical activity of a human heart. It is essential for detecting heart disease.

An ECG is usually performed as an initial assessment of the possibility of a heart attack, and its results are used to diagnose a variety of serious conditions, including heart attacks, blockages, and the need for any type of heart surgery.

After the video was released, principal BS Jodha of the attached medical college said that necessary action would be taken after investigating the matter and the video.
