Tuscaloosa County Commission Hosts Fall Cleanup Event

TUSCALOOSA COUNTY, Alabama (WBRC) – The Tuscaloosa County Commission held a fall cleanup event Saturday.

County residents were encouraged to bring in whatever they could, except household trash and hazardous materials, for free so county employees could dispose of them. Three drop-off sites were located in each of the county’s four districts.

Many residents took the opportunity to get rid of furniture, heavy appliances and other items during fall cleanup.

“Well it gives me the chance to bring it here close to the house, a mile from the house, instead of having to go to a landfill and pay those fees to have it dropped off” , Kevin Herron told WBRC while picking up items at the Englewood Elementary School drop-off site.

Fall and spring cleanings are part of the TCClean initiative. The Tuscaloosa County Commission was launched to reduce roadside debris and keep Tuscaloosa County clean.
