Fine Gael remains the most popular party in the country with 26% approval, according to the latest Sunday Independent/Ireland thinks opinion poll.

Fianna Fáil gained one point at 20% – but the slide down for Sinn Féin continues, down from one to 18%.

Labor and Aontú are both down 1%, at 4% and 3% respectively, while the Greens, Social Democrats, People Before Profit and Independents remain unchanged.

With a General election waiting in the wings, the leader of the Taoiseach and Fine Gael Simon Harris also continues to be the political leader with the highest approval ratings, at 53%.

This is ahead of Tánaiste Micheál Martin, on 48%, and Sinn Fein leader Mary Lou McDonald, on 33%.

The survey of 1,832 people was carried out between November 1 and 2.
