Two women killed and two men hospitalized in horror crash – as police appeal for witnesses over Audi’s driving

Two women have been killed and two men hospitalized in a horror crash, with police appealing for witnesses who saw the driving style of an Audi.

Police said two drivers collided during the incident along the A4050 in Barry, south Wales, shortly after 1.40pm on Saturday.

The junction of Port Road East and Barry Dock Link Road towards Pugh’s Garden Center was closed until this morning.

Police said two men were hospitalized, with one in critical condition.

Sergeant Craig Wood, who is investigating the incident, said officers were beginning to try to establish the full circumstances of what happened.

An appeal has been launched to the public for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has information that could assist its investigation.

The police are particularly interested in how a gray Audi RS 4 was driven before the accident.

A statement from South Wales Police said yesterday: ‘We are at the scene of a fatal road traffic collision on the A4050, Barry and the road is currently closed in both directions from the Port junction Road East and Barry Dock Link Road to Pugh’s Garden Centre.

“The road is likely to remain closed until at least 2am tomorrow morning, Sunday 3 November. We advise motorists to avoid the area and use alternative routes where possible.

“We were called shortly after 1.40pm this afternoon, Saturday November 2, to reports of a collision between two drivers on the A4050. Two women died instantly. Two men were taken to hospital, one of whom is believed to be in critical condition.

Sergeant Craig Wood said: “Firstly, our thoughts are with the family of the two women who died in this collision. We are in the early stages of our investigation and are still trying to establish the full circumstances.

“I am appealing to anyone who was traveling in the area between 1.30pm and 1.50pm today who has information that could assist this investigation to contact us.”

“If you have an on-board camera in your vehicles, I would also ask you to contact us. We are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who can give us additional details on how to drive a gray Audi RS 4 before the collision.

“I would like to thank the public for their patience and understanding while we carry out investigations at the scene.”
