Women’s March protesters gather in front of Kamala Harris

Washington DC: Several Women’s March protesters gathered in Washington DC to rally in support of Vice President Kamala Harris ahead of the upcoming presidential elections.
Hundreds of people marched from Freedom Plaza to the White House in Washington and across the country in support of Harris.

While speaking with ANI, supporters shared why they support Harris, citing her commitment to women’s rights, human rights and democracy.

A lady told ANI: “I’m from the great city of New York. I’m 70 years old and I started voting in 1972. I marched for Hillary (presidential candidate Hillary Clinton) in 2016 and I’m marching for Kamala in 2024.”

She added: “We’re voting for Kamala because we don’t want to have Trump and on top of that we need a woman leader because when women do well, everyone does because we care. .We need Kamala, we need her brains, we need her fierceness…”

Another lady, Darcy, from Maryland, emphasized the crucial role of every vote in the upcoming election. She added that she firmly believes that a vote for former President Donald Trump is a vote for fascism.

She said: “I am here at this rally because every vote is absolutely essential to this election. I voted early for Kamala Harris. I believe that anyone who votes for Trump is voting for a fascist, who is intent on changing our democracy, if not destroying it. I believe in protecting women’s rights, the rights of all people, women and men of color, and I don’t want a fascist to be a dictator in the White House. I think it would be terrible for our country.

Another lady, from the swing state of Arizona, said: “I’m here today to support Kamala Harris. Many of the things she stands for resonate with me. I’m an immigrant from the Philippines, so a lot of the things she supports are very personal to me and my family…I hope that in this election we can change things and not go back and continue to have the human rights that every person here deserves.

The US presidential elections are scheduled to take place on November 5. The elections will pit Democratic candidate Kamala Harris against Republican candidate Donald Trump.

Although Harris could become the first Native American president of the United States, a survey by the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace found that she would likely get fewer votes from the community than incumbent President Joe Biden in 2020.
