Winnipeg police have arrested and charged a man in connection with a homicide that occurred on October 31.

On Thursday, police responded to reports of a woman unconscious and suffering from life-threatening injuries in the first block of The Promenade, located just behind the Portage Place shopping center.

The 28-year-old woman, known as Briannah Clowes, was taken to hospital where she died.

On Sunday, officers arrested John Kennedy, 32, for second-degree murder. He was taken into custody.

Police said the victim and the accused knew each other.
