Hilton just celebrated the opening of Hilton Wokinga 189-room hotel located at the heart of the town’s ongoing regeneration project.

Located in the new Victoria Square, the hotel is within walking distance of 150 shops, restaurants, New Victoria Theater Woking, Italia Conti dance conservatory and Woking Superbowl – an entertainment complex including bowling, an arcade and a laser quest.

Each room is fitted with contemporary interiors and offers panoramic views of Woking and the Surrey countryside. Additionally, all guests will have access to a state-of-the-art fitness center open 24/7, equipped with Technogym.

Culinary delights also await, with the LOFT Sky Bar on the 22nd floor serving expertly crafted cocktails and a pan-Asian menu designed to be shared, including dishes like chimichurri with scallions wrapped in banana leaves, filet of Hereford beef grilled with Josper and the Kushiyaki skewer with Padrón pepper. . OXBO Restaurant, on the 21st floor, celebrates British cuisine from farm to plate, with a selection of shared dishes, which showcase the freshest local produce and reflect the hotel’s commitment to environment and community. Standout items include the Steak and Blue Cheese Flatbread, the OXBO Burger with Rarebit Dark Ale, and the Spicy Cauliflower Fritters. For a more casual gathering with friends or colleagues, the GLOW Lounge offers a modern barista experience.

Stephen Cassidy, senior vice president and general manager, UK and Ireland, Hilton, said: “As Woking continues its impressive transformation, we are proud to play a key role in shaping its future. With a prime location, contemporary design and exceptional amenities, Hilton Woking is committed to meeting the growing demand for high-quality accommodation in the region, and we look forward to welcoming our guests to this fantastic new hotel.

Guests can easily explore some of the UK’s top family attractions, including Mercedes-Benz World, Thorpe Park and LEGOLAND Windsor, all within a 30-minute drive of the hotel. Golf enthusiasts will appreciate the exceptional location of the hotel, located less than 32 km from 20 of the the 100 best golf courses in England. These include the historic Woking Golf Club, one of the oldest moorland courses in England, and Wentworth Golf Club, home to the BMW PGA Championship.

A short walk from Woking Station, the hotel also offers direct rail links to central London, with London Waterloo accessible in less than 25 minutes. All London Heathrow Airport terminals can be reached within 45 minutes by car and London Gatwick Airport is around an hour’s drive away, making the hotel an ideal base for guests wishing to travel further afield.

Hilton Woking has extensive event facilities including Surrey’s largest hotel ballroom with a theater-style capacity of 609 people and a banquet capacity of 384 people, as well as eleven multi-purpose meeting rooms and two catering spaces private, making it the ideal venue for corporate events, weddings, or meetings. Each space is equipped with high-end audio-visual technology to ensure seamless experiences.

The hotel is also proud to participate in Hilton’s Meet with Purpose program, which helps guests reduce the environmental impact of their meetings and make a positive contribution to the local community. The program focuses on three key areas: reducing waste and energy consumption, providing healthier, locally sourced dining options, and promoting participant well-being.

Honoring the historic evolution of Woking, the 23-storey hotel was designed by Benoy, the lead architect of the Victoria Square mixed-use development, with a hotel layout designed by Gensler, and Hilton bringing its expertise in hospitality. Gensler prioritized sourcing local materials and commissioned contemporary artwork from local artists to display throughout the hotel. The integration of metal finishes with wooden elements reflects both the growth of the city in the 19th century, driven by the arrival of the railway, and the surrounding natural landscape. The hotel’s signage, featuring a font inspired by the typography of this era, pays homage to Woking’s transformation from a rural village to a key transport hub linking London to neighboring regions.

Kelly Shrives-Wrist, general manager of the hotel, said: “We are thrilled to open the doors to this incredible new hotel, offering fantastic accommodations, superb meeting spaces and dynamic dining options for visitors and locals alike. Not only is it a great place to stay, but we are extremely proud to support the local community – from creating 60 jobs to working with nearby suppliers who share our core values to make a positive impact.

Cllr Ann-Marie Barker, leader of Woking Borough Council, added: “It’s great to see the much-anticipated opening of the Hilton Woking. We hope this state-of-the-art hotel will bring significant economic benefits and strengthen Woking’s position as a vibrant and attractive destination to live, work and visit. I wish the new hotel every success.

Guests at all Hilton properties can benefit from the award-winning Hilton Honors loyalty program, allowing members who book directly with Hilton to earn points toward hotel stays and experiences. Victoria Square is the latest successful step in the regeneration of Woking town centre. In addition to the Hilton Hotel, the development includes The Marches, a purpose-built residential scheme offering 429 high-quality apartments now fully let, providing a wonderful community in the heart of the city centre. There is also 125,000 sq ft of retail space, including a 50,000 sq ft Marks and Spencer store and a 27,500 sq ft Boots store. The retail space includes a mix of local and national operators, including GAIL’s Bakery, Lark, Sostrene Grene and Skechers.
