The 2024 general elections are here.

Millions of Americans have voted or are preparing to vote in this hotly contested presidential election. But the next U.S. president isn’t the only thing in the running: Oklahomans will vote on retaining judges, four out of five U.S. representatives, state congressmen and two state issues.

As you head to the polls on Election Day, here’s everything you need to know before you vote.

Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Election Day, November 5, 2024. Lines at polling stations are typically longest before and after work, and during the lunch hour , according to the Oklahoma State Election Board.

Any eligible voter in line at 7 p.m. will be able to vote.

Anyone voting in person on Election Day must provide proof of identification.

Voters can choose one of three options:

  • A valid photo ID issued by the federal, state, or tribal government
  • A voter ID card
  • Sign an affidavit and vote by provisional ballot; If the information on the affidavit matches official voter registration records, the ballot will be counted after Election Day.

Don’t know where you’re voting or need to make sure your voting location hasn’t changed?

Head to okvoterportal.okelections.us and enter your first name, last name and date of birth to find the address of your polling station.

The last day to request your absentee ballot was October 21. Absentee ballots must be received by the Oklahoma County Board of Elections no later than 7 p.m. on election night.

There is different types of postal ballotseach with different requirements. A standard absentee ballot must be notarized. You can use the OK Vote portal to track the status of your absentee ballot, including when it is received by your county election board.

Voters can find their sample ballot at okvoterportal.okelections.gov.

  • Enter your name and date of birth, then tap “Find Me.”
  • In the Voter Information section, tap “Sample Ballots” to navigate to that section.
  • There, view your sample ballot for the upcoming election as a PDF or web page.
