Discovery Warner Bros. has promoted Deniz Şaşmaz Oflaz to Vice President of Local Original Productions, Local Channels and Streaming Operations for Turkey. In her expanded role, she will oversee both the streaming and linear television activities in the region, the conglomerate announced on Monday.

Şaşmaz Oflaz, who served as CEO of Discovery Warner Bros.It is BluTV streaming platform since January 2023, will continue to lead BluTV while taking on new responsibilities, including managing the company’s linear channels, such as TLC and DMAX, in Türkiye.

“This leadership appointment underscores Warner Bros. Discovery’s commitment to strengthening its presence in Turkey and further integrating the Warner Bros. Discovery and BluTV businesses,” the company said.

“In her new role, Deniz Şaşmaz Oflaz will continue to lead the development and production of local content,” WBD also said. “As part of overseeing channel management for TLC and DMAX, Şaşmaz Oflaz will also supervise the local programming and planning teams of these popular brands. Responsibility for the networks was previously carried out by Grigori Lavrov, Vice President of Marketing, Local Brands and Franchise Management Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) and Middle East, North Africa and Turkey (MENAT). Lavrov, who has led these channels since 2020, will continue to lead the commercial marketing teams in both regions and will take on new responsibilities outside of Turkey.

Before taking on the role of CEO of BluTV, Şaşmaz Oflaz held several key positions within the company, including Content and Business Director, Content Director and Content Acquisition Consultant, starting in 2016 .
