One person has been arrested and provincial police in the Témiscamingue region of northern Ontario are asking the public to stay away from two separate areas while the investigation continues.

On social media Sunday evening, Ontario Provincial Police warned of an increased officer presence on Algonquin Drive in Haileybury and on Upper Helen Street and Prospect Avenue in nearby Cobalt.

“No threat to public safety,” OPP said around 8:30 p.m. on November 3.

“Please stay away from these areas so as not to hinder the investigation.”

It is not yet clear what type of investigation this is.
