And now he has barely two weeks left to make his “crazy idea” a reality.

November 15 At AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, the YouTuber-turned-boxer will take on the former undisputed heavyweight champion in what will undoubtedly be one of the most-watched fights of the 21st century.

Tyson, although very experienced, has not stepped between the ropes since locking horns with Roy Jones Jr. during an exhibition fight in 2020.

That night, on the undercard, Paul fought NBA star Nate Robinson in his second professional fight.

He knocked out Robinson in the second round, then moved up a level to face the former CFU fighter Ben Askren.

Three days before the fight, Paul was filmed chatting with his friends, making it a remarkable watch in this day and age.

“I just had a crazy idea. Do you think I can beat Mike Tyson?” asked Paul.

He received a resounding no but, undeterred, he insisted: “Not even in a year?

A member of his entourage responded: “Mike Tyson just pissed himself, he knows how to do it bro, he’s just… He’s just a dog.”

The video then jumps forward three and a half years later, to when Paul and Tyson first signed to fight.

When news broke that the two men would face off, several members of the boxing fraternity expressed concerns about Tyson’s health.

“Iron Mike” recently celebrated his 58th birthday while Paul is in his prime at 27 years old and has been actively competing in the paid ranks for the past five years.

Initially, Paul vs. Tyson was supposed to be an exhibition bout, but the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation sanctioned it as a professional heavyweight contest under its auspices.

As a result, knockouts are permitted, neither man will wear a helmet and the result will appear on both of their professional records.

However, the rules have been slightly adapted.

Rather than wearing 10z gloves, the pair will compete in 14oz mitts as both men compete over two-minute rounds rather than the usual three-minute stanzas that pros tend to box.

The rounds were shortened at Tyson’s request to allow for “more action.”

Tyson competed for the same length of time in his last outing with Jones Jr and kept his energy up well – although his fight with Paul is expected to be much more testing.
