Windsor driver charged with RIDE scheme

A 48-year-old Windsor man is facing impaired driving charges after being arrested as part of an Impaired Driving Reduction (RIDE) program over the weekend.

Members of the Ontario Provincial Police West Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement Team led the initiative on Ojibway Parkway and Highway 401 on November 2 at approximately 9 p.m. 15 p.m.

During the operation, a vehicle was stopped and the driver was evaluated for sobriety. Following the investigation, the man was charged with:

  • Impaired operation – alcohol and drugs
  • Impaired operation – blood alcohol level 80 and above

The accused is scheduled to appear in Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor on November 21.
