Mohamed Salah delivers cryptic message amid Liverpool contract uncertainty: ‘No matter what happens, I will never forget’

Mohamed Salah delivered an ambiguous message on social media on Sunday, saying that “whatever happens”, he would “never forget” the feeling of scoring at Anfield, amid uncertainty over his future at Liverpool.

The in-form striker’s contract expires at the end of the 2024/25 season, alongside influential teammates Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk.

And after scoring his ninth goal of the season in Liverpool win 2-1 against Brighton & Hove Albion On Saturday, the Egypt international took to social media, expressing his love for the club with a cryptic comment that could be interpreted as an allusion to his unresolved contractual situation.
“This club belongs at the top of the table,” he said the. “Nothing less.

“All teams win matches, but there is only one champion in the end. That’s what we want.

“Thank you for your support last night. Whatever happens, I will never forget the feeling of scoring at Anfield.”

Salah has started his eighth season at Anfield in fine form, scoring nine goals and seven assists in 15 matches as Arne Slot’s side sit two points clear at the top of the Premier League table, while maintaining a perfect record in the UEFA Champions League.

But discussions are ongoing around the futures of Salah, Alexander-Arnold and Van Dijk, with question marks surrounding the trio’s status at Liverpool beyond this season.

Slot previously said he would not engage in player contract negotiations with the media, but insisted that the situation was not “disruptive” for his teamwho have only lost once so far in the Dutchman’s first season in charge.
