Victoria Beckham is proud that her fashion line is ‘finally profitable’ after 17 years

Victoria Beckham sees pound signs galore after her fashion business has taken a turn.

THE Spice Girls the icon fashion and beauty empire accumulated losses of more than £66 million since its launch in 2008.

However, after 15 years, things finally started to improve.

Thanks to items like an £890 clutch and makeup products such as £30 eyeliners, the VB brand has started making money again.

Much of the success can perhaps be attributed to its social media presence and genius marketing strategies, with its “Get Ready With Me” videos and beauty tutorials forcing products off the shelves like little ones. hot buns while everyone wants to replicate its classic look.

As of 2022, her financial accounts showed she had £200,000 in profits, while her high-end brand has borrowed more than £30 million from other parts of the Beckham empire since its launch.

But now Vicky B has plenty of reasons to rejoice.

Speaking in a new interview, the 50 year old man said: “This is a huge achievement. »

Victoria continued to Harper’s Bazaarbefore receiving her Entrepreneur distinction at the Women of the Year Awards 2024: “The company has been through so much over the last 17 years – ups, downs, restructuring… it’s been quite a journey.

“Finally, being able to say that we are profitable is something that I am very proud of, because it is not an easy sector and it is becoming more and more difficult.

“To be able to say that I’m selling clothes right now, when we see how luxury is in difficulty…”

“When I think about the last 17 years… I mean, there was a time when this brand was on fire, and every day we were putting them out.

“But when I created the perfume, that’s when I think we went from a brand to a house.

“I spent years building the damn foundation. Now I can really start building the house.

“A friend was talking to one of the kids recently and they said I was a builder. And that’s who I am,” she said proudly.

Victoria’s business began to grow two years ago when revenues soared 44% to £58.8 million, up from £40.9 million in 2021.

This growth continued throughout 2023, as Victoria saw “unprecedented” demand for its beauty items and fragrances.

Speaking to Vogue France a year ago, the Wannabe hitmaker insisted it was “just the beginning”.

She teased that she had “a lot of ambitions” and said she was “working hard to achieve[her]goals.”

“I never wait for things to fall into my lap,” Victoria added.

“It’s such an exciting time. This year we made a profit! This takes time, especially for an independent brand.

And it’s not just Victoria who will reap the rewards of her new profits, as his daughter also looks set to make millions.

Harper, 13, who Victoria shares with husband David, may only be a teenager, but she has already expressed a desire to follow in her mother’s fashion footsteps.

But now Victoria has incorporated a company called H7B Limited into her own eponymous brand, which The Sun reports is to funnel all future revenue to Harper.

The company lists Posh as a director of the company, based on Harper’s initials.

It was claimed that Harper had already been inundated with offers from big brands wanting to work with her, suggesting the only solution was really for the Beckham clan.

The December/January issue of Harper’s Bazaar UK is on sale from 6 November.
