Life Ready Center welcomes 90 students for LPS Leadership Conference

LAWTON, Okla. (KSWO) – Ninety students from LPS high schools traveled to the Life Ready Center for a district leadership conference.

Students included those in leadership classes as well as those in student councils.

At the conference, they were able to hear from school officials and discuss how to improve their experience across Lawton.

Some students enjoyed being able to talk with their fellow leaders from other schools and learn about what they are doing with their respective students.

“For me, leadership isn’t about the title or myself, it’s about serving others and serving leadership,” said Caytlyn Sparks, student body president at Lawton High School. “And I think coming here today kind of proves what leadership means to me and getting to work with different presidents of other schools and other leaders of other schools and learn what they do in their schools and that. it just means a lot to me.

The students then headed to Elmer Thomas Park for a joint service project after the lecture.
