The nights may be approaching, but for many Brits, winter has not yet arrived. However, weather maps produced by WX Charts show a frosty end to the month across all corners of the British Isles.

The Scottish Highlands are expected to experience negative figures on November 20, although it is not heavy and in isolated places.

A WX Charts map also suggests snow could fall on November 19, but only at the northern tip of Scotland. It is important to note that the Met Officethe UK’s official weather forecaster, does not predict snow weeks in advance.

Although there may be snow in Scotland within a fortnight, it is predicted that England and Wales will also experience cool conditions.

In particular, mid Wales and parts of Yorkshire and Lancashire could see 0°C, but again the Met Office is reluctant to be precise on temperatures so far in advance.

Compared to Southern Europe, the UK is expected to be cold on this date.

As a WX Charts radar shows, the United Kingdom, Scandinavia, parts of the Baltic States and part of northern Germany will be colder than the rest of the continent during this period.

Northern Ireland is expected to follow the pattern of the rest of the country, with temperatures in the single digits throughout this period.

THE Met Office‘s long-range forecast recognizes that a “general trend toward more unstable conditions in all regions” appears more likely than not between November 20 and December 4.

The forecast speaks of a possible “northwest-southeast divide, with more unstable conditions towards the northwest while drier conditions persist towards the south and east.”

Even more unstable weather is likely to develop as we approach December, the weather agency added.

“Temperatures will likely be near or above average overall, although some colder interludes are possible, particularly in the north,” it added.
